This award recognises an organisation whose sustainable design and/or innovation has a proven economic, environmental, and/or social benefit(s) and that the design and/or innovation is contributing to sustainable development in New Zealand. 

This business has, or has the potential to, influence their sector with this design and/or innovation.  The design and/or innovation has been recognised as a robust product or service, and the market is responding with enthusiasm.

The aim of the award is to support the ongoing growth of innovative thinking, attracting media and consumer excitement in this area. Entry into this award is free.

Award rules:

  • Entry into this award is free and open to both Sustainable Business Network members and non-members
  • The awards run as part of each of the five Sustainable Business Network regional awards (August – September), with the winners from each region being put forward into the National Awards (held in Auckland in October)
  • The award is open to entries of sustainable product or service innovations
