Our annual Next Wave report tracks the progress, sentiment and barriers facing the sustainable innovation sector each year. It’s a collaboration between the Sustainable Business Network and Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury.

This year’s report, published in June 2026, captures the experiences of 42 purpose-driven businesses. All were finalists in the Sustainable Business Awards for disruptive innovation. They include innovators in clean tech, climate and socially-inclusive business models.
